Essential Job Functions & Key responsibilities:
The responsibilities of cardiovascular technologist include, but not limited to:
- Perform interventional/therapeutic procedures to obtain sufficient and valid data/treat cardiac disease while maintaining maximal patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare patients and explain what they will undergo during the procedure and ensure patients' comfort.
- Assist physician in all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Provide a summary of findings to the physician to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Ensures Cardiologic equipment remains in working order and reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
- Cleans equipment according to the institutional infection control policies.
- Calibrate, set up, and operate imaging equipment.
- Data measurement, acquisition, and storage/archiving of images
- Documentation of physiological readings, technical troubleshooting, and monitoring changes.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS – ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- BSc (Hons.) clinical physiology or equivalent (RCVT)
Experience:
- 2+ years as a Cardiac Technologist or RCVT
- 2+ Years specialized experience in cardiac catheterization laboratory
Certification and Licensure:
- Registered as Clinical Physiologist/Cardiovascular or equivalent ( RCIS)
- Certified Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support
