Care Attendant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Attendant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities or seniors requiring specialized care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to caregiving, ensuring that all services are delivered with respect and dignity while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and grooming.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks.
• Document care provided and report any significant changes in client health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive client information.
• Support clients in participating in social and recreational activities, promoting engagement and well-being.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in caregiving, home health, or working in a group home setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols and first aid practices is essential.
• Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
• A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various situations.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality is required.
