Our Career Counselors identify and meet the personal and career counseling needs of students on caseload through individual and group counseling sessions. At the Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center, operated by Education and Training Resources (ETR) for the US Department of Labor, our qualified and dedicated staff provide academic, vocational and social skills training to help at-risk youth and young adults become long-term, competent employees who succeed in today's competitive workforce and become productive citizens in our increasingly complex society.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Assist students to obtain support and resources to successfully complete program
- Identify and remediate barriers to success
- Review files, conduct interviews and test to recommend programs for students
- Provide educational, vocational, personal and social adjustment counseling
- Maintain documentation, case notes and records
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time working 8:00 am to 5:00 pm four days per week and 10:00 to 7:00 pm one day per week with flexed schedule during on-call weekends
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, human services, social services, education or related field which includes 15 semester hours of social services coursework; one year experience in counseling or related field; valid Minnesota driver’s license with acceptable driving record
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$47,400 per year plus benefits, including 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick time, 401(k) with match, and medical, dental and vision insurance
