THE FAMILY | They are a warm, grounded, and collaborative family of four seeking a long-term career nanny to grow with them. Their home is calm, affectionate, and well-run, with clear rhythms that prioritize connection, workability over perfection, and a low-drama, non-chaotic environment.
They have two loving, curious children (2.5 years and almost 1 year old) who are joyful, expressive, and deeply bonded. They thrive with a balance of structure, play, warmth, and flexibility.
They also have two friendly indoor cats; the nanny should be comfortable with cats and handle simple morning care (food and water).
THE HOUSEHOLD CULTURE | This is a calm, affectionate, and emotionally regulated home. The family values clarity, consistency, and follow-through, but never at the expense of warmth or humanity. When something isn’t working, they talk about it early and collaboratively. They care deeply about trust, repair, and maintaining a sense of ease for both the children and the adults who care for them.
THE TODDLER | She is 2.5 years old and described as a joyful, affectionate, and observant child who thrives on routines and rituals. She is kind and expressive, and she loves feeling excited about the world around her.
Her interests include dancing, going on “adventures,” animals, cars, and reading books. She is especially into ballerinas right now and enjoys dressing up in her tutu. She loves pretend play and can often be found hosting a tea party, running an ice cream shop, or cooking in her play kitchen.
She is highly verbal and curious, constantly absorbing new words and concepts. She enjoys structure and thrives on clear rhythms, transitions, and gentle guidance.
THE INFANT | At 12 months old, she is a happy, curious, and determined baby with an active spirit and a growing love for music. Eager to explore, she enjoys engaging with her surroundings and getting her hands on everything within reach. She is developing a strong interest in sound and rhythm and is already beginning to learn basic sign language, which she is picking up quickly.
She is in the early stages of transitioning to solid foods and continues to receive breast milk via bottle. There are no known allergies at this time.
THE SCHEDULE | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–2:00 PM, with a guaranteed 35 hours per week. The remaining hours will be scheduled in advance between the nanny and parents, typically for date nights. Additional hours may be required during periods of parental travel, as well as occasional overnight support and weekend coverage. While not required, a willingness to travel in the future is preferred.
As the family’s needs evolve, the schedule may expand to include additional hours.
THE JOB DETAILS | The nanny will provide consistent, loving, and structured care for two young children while both parents work from home. This is a true partnership role focused on supporting children’s development and maintaining a smooth household rhythm.
The nanny will lead engaging, age-appropriate play, activities, and routines, with strong emotional attunement, balancing independence with comfort, connection, and responsiveness.
Childcare & Household Support | The nanny is responsible for all child-related tasks, including planning activities and outings, handling children’s laundry and dishes, maintaining organized, well-stocked spaces, preparing meals and snacks for the girls, and cleaning up daily messes. Occasional child-related projects (e.g., reorganizing play areas) may also be requested.
Additional Responsibilities | Simple household support includes refreshing cat food and water, managing dishes, taking out trash/recycling, and putting away groceries. The nanny is expected to follow the family’s parenting philosophy and maintain a scent-free environment.
Communication & Partnership | Clear, open communication is essential. The nanny will provide daily notes (meals, sleep, behavior, diapering/toileting) and communicate anything notable in real time. The family values ongoing dialogue, comfort in asking questions, and openness to regular feedback, including quarterly check-ins.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE | The ideal candidate is an experienced, emotionally intelligent career nanny seeking a long-term role and true partnership with parents. A minimum of five years of experience with infants and toddlers is required, along with a strong understanding of early childhood development. Some college coursework is a plus, though extensive hands-on experience may suffice.
They are reliable, punctual, and consistent, with a calm, warm, and playful presence. The nanny should be confident in setting loving, firm boundaries while clearly following parents' direction.
This role requires flexibility, openness to feedback, and a team-oriented mindset. The nanny views each moment as an opportunity to support the children’s growth, independence, and capability.
Safety, health, and emotional connection are always prioritized. Familiarity with Montessori principles, child development resources (e.g., Bringing Up Bébé), and baby sign language—or a willingness to learn—is a strong plus.
