As a North Tech Career Exploration Instructor in Design, you will introduce high school students to the fields of graphic design and multimedia content creation, helping them discover interests and begin shaping future pathways. Through hands-on instruction, field experiences, and collaboration with career and technical education instructors, you will create an engaging environment where students connect their creativity to real opportunities. You will guide learning aligned to the board-approved curriculum, monitor student progress, and create a safe, industry-appropriate classroom experience, while building connections with industry partners and school teams to help students make informed decisions as they transition into a focused CTE program.


Experience and Education

  • To be eligible for this position, the applicant must meet one of the following criteria:
  • Six thousand (6,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to three (3) years of full-time experience; OR
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five thousand (5,000) hours of closely related occupational experience within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to two and a half (2.5) years of full-time experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and four thousand (4,000) hours of closely related occupational experience obtained within the past ten (10) years. This roughly equates to two (2) years of full-time experience; OR
  • Missouri Career Technical Education (CTE) Teacher Certification in a closely related occupation


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Teacher certification is not required upon hire
  • Applying for career and technical education certification through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and completing up to 18 college credit hours to obtain a Career and Technical Education Teaching Certificate is required


Salary

  • $49,000 to $83,250/year based on experience and education


Calendar

  • 10-month school year (August to June)
