Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive care to children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
  • Support childhood development through engaging activities that foster learning, social skills, and emotional growth
  • Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, bathing, and nap times in accordance with best practices for early childhood education
  • Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and healthy boundaries
  • Collaborate with families and team members to develop individualized care plans that meet each child's unique needs
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment that adheres to health and safety standards including first aid procedures when necessary
  • Use teaching techniques to encourage curiosity and exploration while supporting early childhood education goals

Experience

  • Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
  • Experience caring for infants and toddlers, including understanding their specific needs for nurturing and safety
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children
  • Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is appreciated
  • Hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, children, and team members
