Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Support childhood development through engaging activities that foster learning, social skills, and emotional growth
- Assist with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, bathing, and nap times in accordance with best practices for early childhood education
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and healthy boundaries
- Collaborate with families and team members to develop individualized care plans that meet each child's unique needs
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that adheres to health and safety standards including first aid procedures when necessary
- Use teaching techniques to encourage curiosity and exploration while supporting early childhood education goals
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices
- Experience caring for infants and toddlers, including understanding their specific needs for nurturing and safety
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques suitable for young children
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is appreciated
- Hands-on experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with families, children, and team members
