Caregiver

Job Descripton: We are seeking a compassionate, reliable caregiver to support a 39-year-old woman with intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and dedicated to promoting dignity and meaningful engagement in daily activities.

Location: Riverdale, Bronx

Pay: $30/hour

Schedule: We are looking for people with weekday and/or weekend availability; hours/days are flexible!

Hours: Starting at 5 hours/week, with the goal of increasing the # of hours with the client once the relationship is established.

Job Requirements:

• Experience working with individuals with IDD and/or similar care needs is a plus!
• Experience working with people with minimal language and non-speakers is a plus!
• Ability to support personal care with professionalism and respect
• Ability to follow care plans and safety guidelines
• Reliable, patient, and compassionate demeanor
• Willingness to be flexible and creative to support adults with various needs and challenges

Job Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one care for a female with intellectual disabilities
• Provide personal care, including dressing, bathing, and toileting
• Assist with daily living tasks and hygiene routines
• Communicate effectively using alernative methods
• Monitor wellbeing and communicate any concerns to family
• Collaborate with therapists, family members, and other providers to ensure consistent care
• Engage the client in leisure activities like drawing, listening to music, and introducing new, similar interests.
