
Caregiver and Med Tech 3rd shift
-
Assist residents with activities of daily living including:
-
Bathing
-
Dressing
-
Grooming
-
Toileting
-
Incontinence care
-
Transfers and mobility
-
Eating assistance as needed
-
Answer call lights promptly.
-
Perform resident rounds routinely and as assigned.
-
Assist residents to meals, activities, appointments, and bedtime routines.
-
Change occupied and unoccupied beds as needed.
-
Ensure residents are clean, dry, properly dressed, and comfortable at all times.
-
Report changes in resident condition, behavior, appetite, skin condition, or mental status immediately to nursing or management staff.
-
Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
-
Administer or assist with medications as allowed by state regulations and facility policy.
-
Accurately document medication administration and treatments.
-
Monitor residents for medication side effects or adverse reactions.
-
Follow proper medication pass procedures and infection control practices.
-
Complete narcotic counts and required medication documentation.
-
Notify pharmacy, provider, or supervisor of medication concerns or missing medications.
-
Ensure medication carts remain locked and secured at all times.
-
Attend required medication training and maintain certification requirements.
-
Accurately chart resident care and behaviors before end of shift.
-
Complete 24-hour communication logs and incident reports as required.
-
Communicate effectively during shift report and with all departments.
-
Report accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences immediately.
-
Keep resident rooms clean and organized.
-
Ensure soiled linen is removed and processed promptly.
-
Never place soiled linen in clean laundry baskets or leave soiled linen under bed pads.
-
Clean wheelchairs, equipment, and resident care items as assigned.
-
Assist with laundry duties when needed.
-
Maintain clean and safe work environments.
-
Follow all OSHA, DHEC, infection control, and facility safety procedures.
-
Use proper PPE and hand hygiene practices.
-
Follow fall prevention and transfer safety procedures.
-
Immediately report hazards, broken equipment, or unsafe conditions.
-
Arrive on time and in proper uniform.
-
Maintain professional conduct with residents, families, and coworkers.
-
Follow assignments and instructions from supervisors.
-
Participate in mandatory in-services, meetings, and training.
-
Maintain a teamwork-oriented attitude and assist coworkers when needed.
-
High school diploma or GED preferred.
-
Current Med Tech certification (if required by state regulations).
-
Previous assisted living or long-term care experience preferred.
-
Ability to communicate effectively and document accurately.
-
Must pass background checks and health screenings.
-
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
-
Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely.
-
Ability to bend, stoop, push, and pull frequently.
-
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
