Caregiver for Elderly Lady

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
• Administer medication as prescribed, following HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy and safety
• Support memory care needs through personalized routines and engaging activities tailored for dementia or Alzheimer’s patients
• Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
• Conduct patient observation to identify changes in condition or behavior, alerting healthcare professionals as necessary
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing
• Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident’s personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
• Follow detailed care plans created by healthcare providers to deliver consistent and effective support
• Document care activities accurately while respecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA regulations

Qualifications

• Proven experience in senior care, home health, assisted living, or nursing home environments is highly preferred
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care techniques, and hospice support methods
• Certification or training in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications in patient monitoring or medication administration are advantageous
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers
• Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
• Strong observational skills to monitor patient condition and respond promptly to needs or emergencies
• Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills to build trust and rapport with residents and their families

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
