Caregiver Full Time Morning Shift

Job Overview
This position is responsible for providing personal care and delegated nursing services designed to maintain the residents’ physical and emotional well-being. Work schedule is Full time morning shift 6am-2p.

Responsibilities

· Demonstrate a sincere desire to work with elders, demonstrated through a loving and kind approach and attitude.

· Assist the resident, both male and female with personal cares which may include all or some of the following: showering/bathing, assist with toileting, fingernail cares and foot cares and other cares as assigned.

· Assist with dressing, grooming and oral cares as assigned.

· Assist in use of hearing aids and glasses for residents.

· Observe resident and report changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, appearance, loss of appetite, weight, etc.

· Complete vitals as instructed; temperature, O2 stats, weight, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. Report changes or concerns to RN.

· Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.

· Ability to redirect a negative symptom of dementia by using a calm tone of voice and approach.

· Complete an accurate progress note for each individual daily.

· Offer person center interaction through individuals life legacies

· Attend monthly caregiver staff meetings and annual training per licensing.

· Initiate and participate in resident activities as scheduled and assigned, including non-denominational religious services.

· Assist with transferring and mobility of residents as indicated on individual service plans

Requirements

· Understand and communicate using specialized medical terminology.

· Must be punctual, with a good attendance record.

· Must follow building dress code; full set of scrubs, closed toes shoes, gait belt and visible name tag. Maintain good personal hygiene and grooming.

· Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.

· Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.

· Must be compassionate and work with tact and ethical awareness.

· Must work as a team member with other personnel, supervisor and nursing

· Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills, remaining calm in difficult or unusual circumstances.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.50 per hour
