Caregiver - Hospice Specialist
As a Hospice Caregiver you will provide individuals with end-of-life care at the Hospice Home of Johnson County, also known as The Bird House. The Bird House is a community-based nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate, dignified end-of-life care by focusing on the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of our guests and their loved ones in a peaceful, home-like environment. This position will work the schedule of 2:00pm to 10:00pm Monday thru Friday.
Primary Duties:
- Provide companionship and all end-of-life care to include:
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting
- Medication management
- Meal preparation
- Housekeeping & laundry assistance
- Positioning, transferring, and feeding as appropriate
- Promote personal safety and maintain a safe environment for guests by observing infection control practices.
- Effectively communicates with all team members.
- Maintain strict confidentiality within all aspects of the position.
- Document the care provided and pertinent observations.

Qualifications:
You need to be at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED for this position. Previous experience as a Caregiver is preferred. Additional requirements include:
- Ability to work independently under minimum supervision
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- Must be able to pass multiple background checks
