Caregiver/Med Aide

Management and Organizational Profile:

The Med Tech/Care Partner work a 6 to 12-hour shift as part of a team providing personal care services to the residents in accordance with their Personal Service Plan. They are responsible for reporting any change in residents or problems in operations to the Administrator or Administrator Designee.

Experience and Skill Qualifications:

1. Special training in a long-term care environment is preferred.

  • Good moral character including honesty, fairness and respect for the rights of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively and independently.
  • Ability to understand and follow exact, detailed instructions both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Satisfy a criminal background check.
  • Excellent work history with a good attendance record.

Job Duties:

An analysis of the Med Tech/Care Partner job description has been completed. Reasonable accommodation will be provided for those individuals with disabilities. Listed below are the essential functions of the Care Partner position.

1. Deliver the highest quality of personal care services to each resident in the home in accordance with their Personal Service Plan.

2. Document resident information in their resident records in accordance with current policies and procedures.

3. Administer resident medication accurately and timely in accordance with established policies and procedures.

4. Follow policies and procedures set forth by the Administrator or Administrator Designee.

5. Prepare and serve meals in accordance with policies and procedures.

6. Perform household and laundry tasks in accordance with policies and procedures.

7. Attend mandatory Safety and In-service meetings.

8. Complete required training assigned through Oregon Care Partners for Pre-Service, Community Based Care, Medication training for the unlicensed Med Tech and all monthly training assigned on time.

9. Assist with training of new staff as needed.

10. Participate in resident activities as necessary.

11. Assist residents to off-site locations as needed.

Physical Demands:

Care Partner work up to a 12-hour shift in the home caring for persons with physical, medical and mental impairments. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his/her job. Reasonable accommodation may be provided to enable individuals to perform the essential job functions.

While performing the duties of this job, this employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear and smell. Care Partner are occasionally required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects. Care Partner may also occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The Care Partner must frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific corrected vision abilities required for this job include close vision (12 inches), distance vision of 20/30, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The following is a summary of physical activities that are required to complete the essential job functions. The % listed indicates the maximum amount of time that a Care Partner would be required to perform these functions. It will also be necessary to perform several functions simultaneously.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
