Caregiver/Med Tech - AM

You are responsible for assisting the residents with their ADL's and medications. Utilizing appropriate procedures as outlined by the Director Of Nursing and in compliance with the State of Washington WACs. Review of WACs and facility policies regarding recording, documentation in the resident’s chart, sign off of the MAR, signifying completion of assisted task, and observation of residents changing condition where appropriate are required. Nurse Delegation certification is required upon hire for med techs.

Candidates must be reliable, dependable, honest, caring and have a flexible availability. Caregivers must be observant enough to recognize changes in their clients, and be capable of alerting the appropriate personnel if necessary.

ALL STAFF MUST BE ABLE TO READ, WRITE AND COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY IN ENGLISH AND PASS FINGERPRINT BACKGROUND CHECK.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Attend to individual care needs and get to know their preferences and personalities.

Provide nutritional support as needed

Duties may include meal preparation, engaging in client activities

Assistance with personal hygiene, bathing and grooming

Assist with housekeeping and laundry

Reporting changes in client's condition

Requirements and Qualifications:

Previous experience working with seniors and/or a desire to serve and care for seniors preferred but not necessary

Criminal Background Check.

*NURSE DELEGATION AND DELEGATION WITH DIABETES FOCUS REQUIRED TO WORK AS A MED TECH. We can help obtain but you cannot work as a med tech without first having these certifications.

-NO CAR NEEDED AND NO TRAVEL FROM PLACE TO PLACE. LOCATED ON MAJOR BUS LINE.

Qualifications:

· Pass a fingerprint background check.

· Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

· Current CPR certification and First Aid.

· Knowledge of universal precaution.

· Ability to relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, visitors and other community personnel.

· Written skills required to document resident incidents, and notify appropriate authority.

· Motor coordination and manual dexterity to sort and store medications in the medication cart.

· Ability to work as a team member.

· Possess special interest in and a positive attitude about working with geriatric residents with dementia.'
