Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care, companionship, and daily living support. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to report promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Support clients with memory care needs such as Alzheimer’s or dementia by implementing specialized techniques and ensuring a safe environment.
- Operate medical equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices safely during transfers or mobility assistance.
- Maintain cleanliness of the client’s living space through regular cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and comfort.
- Document all care activities meticulously, including medication administration, patient observations, and any incidents or changes in condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, social workers, or family members to develop and follow personalized care plans.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ quality of life through engaging activities and attentive listening.
Skills
- Proven experience in home health care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes with a focus on long-term care or developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care strategies.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance are highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Strong organizational skills for managing medication schedules and care documentation accurately.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
