Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe health status to identify any changes or concerns promptly
  • Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
  • Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper meal hygiene and safety standards
  • Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting when necessary to support mobility and transfers
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient care, progress notes, and incident reports in compliance with healthcare standards
  • Support clients with cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease or dementia through memory care techniques and compassionate engagement
  • Conduct patient observation to detect signs of distress or deterioration, escalating concerns to healthcare professionals as needed
  • Perform light cleaning duties to maintain a safe and hygienic environment in accordance with home & community care standards
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
  • Assist with transportation or accompany clients on outings within the community, promoting social interaction and independence

Experience

  • Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments such as Alzheimer’s or dementia
  • Proven skills in patient monitoring, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
  • Experience providing hospice or long-term care services is advantageous
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information
  • Hands-on experience using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices for safe patient transfers
  • Strong understanding of care plans development and execution in various healthcare settings
  • Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards for both caregiver and client

Pay: $18.50 - $20.00 per hour
