Caregiver/Personal Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Assistant to provide exceptional support and care to individuals in various living environments. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory care. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote comfort and independence
  • Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, managing medication administration, and reporting any changes or concerns promptly
  • Support clients with mobility using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to ensure safety during movement
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote health and well-being
  • Maintain detailed care plans and document client progress while adhering to HIPAA regulations for confidentiality and privacy
  • Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that encourages social interaction and mental stimulation
  • Assist with transportation needs such as appointments or community outings using safe personal transportation assistance methods

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or intellectual disabilities support
  • Ability to perform patient monitoring tasks including vital signs measurement, medication administration, CPR certification, first aid skills, and emergency response readiness
  • Familiarity with care equipment like Hoyer lifts, patient transfer methods, and manual handling procedures for heavy lifting safely
  • Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining HIPAA compliance
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous
  • Ability to assist with personal transportation needs safely and responsibly
  • Flexibility to work various shifts in a dynamic environment committed to providing home & community care
