Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and dignity
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
- Administer medications and treatments following physician orders while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
- Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities
- Perform medical procedures including catheter care, tube feeding, and other basic nursing tasks under supervision or according to scope of practice
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and records using systems like Epic or Cerner; ensure compliance with medical terminology standards and privacy laws
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans and communicate changes in condition effectively
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care procedures such as medication administration and vital signs monitoring
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; ability to accurately document medical records and procedures
- Certification or training in caregiving roles; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to patient-centered care
- Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining flexibility in a fast-paced environment
