Job Summary:
The Air Cargo Warehouse Agent is responsible for the safe, efficient handling, preparation, and movement of cargo within an airport warehouse environment. This role supports both export and import operations, ensuring cargo is properly built, secured, and processed in compliance with airline, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and break down cargo units (ULDs) for aircraft loading and unloading
- Receive, inspect, and process inbound (import) and outbound (export) shipments
- Verify shipment documentation and ensure proper labeling and handling
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and scales
- Secure cargo using nets, straps, and other restraint systems in accordance with procedures
- Maintain compliance with safety, security, and handling regulations (including special cargo when applicable)
- Perform warehouse housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet flight schedules and operational deadlines
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 70 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Work in varying weather and warehouse conditions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse or air cargo experience is an asset
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Basic communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Work Environment:
- Airport warehouse and ramp environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and changing weather conditions
