Cargo Operations Manager

Cargo Operations Manager oversees all shift and ongoing activities related to warehouse and develops company personnel.
  • Must understand the operational contract obligations to our customer(s) and be literate with all computer systems related to the contracted operation.
  • Must be well versed in all aspects of international cargo handling, warehouse buildup and breakdown.
  • Firm understanding of all associated regulatory requirements and customs documentation.
  • Reviews personnel and operating activities, directing resolution in a timely manner.
  • Determines responsibilities of assigned staff positions to accomplish daily operational activities.
  • Leads, directs, and motivates employee workforce by means of basic management skill sets; including, but not limited to employee coaching, progressive discipline, and effective ALX management teamwork.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Provide ' On the Job' (OJT), customer, and recurrent regulatory training as required.
  • Observe and enforce all ALX and government safety policies, regulations, and directives.
  • Hold all employees accountable for failure to follow all policies, regulation, and directives.
  • Maintain and control all required aspects of the operation in accordance with the corporate security program and TSA legislation.
  • Ensure that the required company audit requirements are undertaken to always ensure continuity and compliance.
  • Coordinate operations activities with all other functions of the organization to provide optimum services to our customers.
  • Understand the principle of aircraft weight and balance/load planning.
  • Familiarity with security mandates generated from the following agencies is required, Transportation Safety Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, Local Airport Authority and Customs and Border Patrol.

  • 3-5 Years Cargo supervisory and or management experience in Import/Export environment
  • Analysing information and evaluating results to choose best outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Coordinates the work activities of others.
  • Proficiency with general computer systems/applications
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours, when necessary, on short notice due to operational needs
  • Independent judgment and decision-making skills required.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs.
Associate degree from college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
