Cargo Service Agent

On the ground, dnata USA keeps 27 of the country’s major airports connected – both with each other and the world - including John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City. Handling 200,000 tonnes of cargo, guiding 15,000,000 passengers and keeping 50,000 flights in the air each year, the work that the dnata USA team complete on the ground is crucial to keeping the country in the air.

Cargo Service Agent Assures that the operations of the facility are in accordance with the controlling authorities and agencies’ policies and regulations. This will be accomplished by performing the duties personally or through facility personnel.

You will

Oversee staff and Interfaces with U.S. Customs.

Manage team to ensure accurate computer data entry; prepares all flight documents.

Prepare all import and export documentation and accept/distribute cargo in accordance with the applicable air carrier and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Comply with dnata Cargo site security procedures for assigned warehouse and other operations.

Remain cognizant of dnata Cargo staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities and report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers.

Manage scheduling of staff to ensure proper coverage and successful operations. Oversee cargo import/export function in the station and ensure all activities follow federal and foreign regulations and are performed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Provide management support to evaluate requirements, design corrective action plans where needed, and drive the implementation of such plans.

Ensure consistent application of standard operating procedures and compliance audit programs in accordance with corporate and governmental guidelines.

Receive and collate customer SAP export paperwork.

Responsible for the allocation of stock to bookings and processing shipments in accordance with SOP.

Complete customs procedures and work with appointed route agents and company operated services.

Prepare and provide documents to customers in accordance with the terms of shipment SOPs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards.
