FACILITY MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Automotive Testing and Development Services, Inc. (ATDS) is seeking an experienced Carpenter to support facility maintenance and construction operations at the Uvalde Proving Grounds (UPG). This role requires a skilled professional with a strong safety record who can work independently or as part of a team to complete a variety of construction, repair, and maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance, and repair work including framing, drywall, flooring, painting, doors, and general facility upkeep
• Execute assigned work orders safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery
• Conduct inspections and ensure equipment is safe and operational prior to use
• Assist with troubleshooting issues and recommending practical solutions
• Support preventative maintenance programs and facility improvements
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with team members and leadership

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or facility maintenance
• Strong knowledge of tools, materials, and building techniques
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with OSHA standards
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, basic plans, or schematics
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and safety requirements

Work Environment & Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or emergency calls as needed

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50 per hour
