Carpenter / Kitchen fitter / Bathroom Fitter

Job Summary
SMK are seeking an experienced and reliable Carpenter / Kitchen & Bathroom Fitter to join our growing team delivering high-quality refurbishment works within occupied residential properties.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out kitchen and bathroom installations to a high standard while maintaining excellent customer care and professionalism in residents’ homes.

This role forms part of an 18-month programme of works, providing stability and consistent work for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Full installation of kitchens and bathrooms in occupied homes
• First and second fix carpentry works
• Kitchen unit fitting, worktops, doors, architraves and skirting
• Bathroom fitting including sanitary ware installation and associated finishing works
• Basic multi-trade skills including making good, minor patching and finishing
• Removal and replacement of fixtures and fittings safely and efficiently
• Working respectfully within occupied properties and maintaining a clean, safe environment
• Liaising professionally with tenants, site managers and supervisors
• Completing works in line with programme timescales and quality standards

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in kitchen and bathroom fitting
• Strong carpentry background
• Experience working in occupied social housing or domestic properties
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
• Full UK Driving Licence
• CSCS Card preferred

Desirable

• Experience in social housing refurbishment programmes
• Basic plumbing or multi-trade experience
• Asbestos awareness, manual handling or health & safety training

We will also consider sub-contract applications from suitably experienced individuals. Applicants must have the appropriate insurances, certifications, tools, transport, and compliance documentation in place and be able to demonstrate a high standard of workmanship and professionalism when working within occupied properties.

Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
