Carpenter - Prop Fabricator (2nd Shift)

Are you a skilled carpenter ready to build more than just cabinets and frames? Do you want to construct secret doors, intricate puzzle boxes, and immersive worlds?

Escapology is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Carpenter to join our production workshop. As a key member of our creative team, you will be responsible for turning design blueprints into the tangible, high-quality props and set pieces that define our escape room adventures. This is a role for a true craftsman who enjoys a challenge, has a keen eye for detail, and loves the idea of building things that will be part of an unforgettable experience for thousands of people.

Your Mission as Our Workshop Artisan:

  • Build Immersive Worlds: Following detailed 2D and 3D plans, you will construct, assemble, and finish a wide variety of props and decorative elements. You'll work with everything from raw lumber and laminates to precision-cut CNC parts made of MDF, plywood, and acrylic.
  • Integrate the Magic: This is where you bring the puzzles to life. You will skillfully integrate low-voltage electronic components—like magnetic locks, sensors, switches, and PLCs—directly into your builds, ensuring everything functions perfectly.
  • Expand Your Skill Set: Beyond your core duties, you’ll step into broader workshop tasks as production needs shift—supporting projects, cross training, assisting across teams, and contributing wherever your abilities add the most value.
  • Master Your Craft: Take pride in your work from start to finish. You will be responsible for ensuring every piece meets our high standards for quality, durability, and appearance, all while planning your builds to work efficiently and minimize waste.
  • Be a Workshop Hero: Collaborate with our CNC operators, designers, and fellow builders to solve creative challenges. You'll help maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop and be a key player in our production flow.
  • Sitewide Responsibilities: Take part in company-wide initiatives, projects, and operational duties that keep the facility running at its best while also helping other departments when dictated by the needs of the business.

Your Skills & Experience (The Toolkit You Bring):

We are looking for a highly skilled craftsperson who blends traditional techniques with modern fabrication.

Required Foundations:

  • 3+ years carpentry experience, especially in fields that require precision and creativity (e.g., theatrical set building, museum exhibits, custom furniture, architectural restoration).
  • Expert-level proficiency with a full range of professional woodworking tools, including table saws, miter saws, pneumatic tools, sanders, and hand tools.
  • The ability to flawlessly read, interpret, and build from complex 2D and 3D construction drawings and build plans.

What Makes You a Perfect Fit:

  • Hands-on experience integrating low-voltage electronics (e.g., magnetic locks, reed switches, sensors) into carpentry builds.
  • Proven success assembling projects from CNC-cut components.
  • Deep knowledge of working with various materials, including Plywood, MDF, hardwoods, laminates, and acrylics.
  • Familiarity with various types of hardware, fasteners, and finishing techniques.

Opportunities available:

  • 2nd Shift: 04:30 PM – 01:00 AM, Monday through Friday

Training: All new hires begin on 1st shift for approximately 4–6 weeks (09:00 AM – 05:30 PM) before moving to their assigned schedule.

If you’re a meticulous craftsman who loves a creative challenge, we invite you to apply. Help us build the impossible!
