Carpenter / Window and Door Installer

Heartland Pella is seeking an additional Installer to join our Installation team in Rapid City, SD.

Purpose of Position:

Assist Lead Installer and other Installer with removal and installation of products in a customer’s home.

General Job Description:

Remove and install Pella and Pella supported products in customers’ homes/businesses per order specifications.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
Remove old windows and doors and install new products in compliance with Pella instructions and recommendations.
Install window and door accessories.
Make minor repairs to window and door products.
Adjust opening sizes, including header changes.
Cut and install interior and exterior trim, bending exterior metal trim as necessary.
Setup, inspect and tear down scaffolding.
Maintain company tools, vehicles and inventory for efficient use
Maintain a safe working environment by compliance with all safety procedures.
Read and understand all project forms and paperwork.
Perform physically demanding work in varied weather conditions.
Protect the customer’s property.
Maintain project cleanliness every day.
Comply with Lead Renovation procedures.
Attend monthly safety meetings.
Generate ideas for improving safety and efficiency.
Actively participate in the continuous improvement process.
Timely attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements for position;

Pleasant, professional, courteous, trustworthy and honest.
A positive attitude and ability to work and communicate well with others, especially dissatisfied customers.
Knowledge and experience in basic construction skills.
Ability to learn mechanical skills and use hand and powered tools.
Adaptable to daily changing situations.
Safety conscious.
Ability to travel and stay overnight up to 3 nights in a week.
A valid current driver’s license and clean driving record.
Dependable and be able to work unsupervised.
Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
Able to lift and carry more than 100 pounds.

Pay: From $24.56 per hour
