Position Primary Objectives:
The Carpentry Lead is responsible for overseeing the fabrication and construction of custom event structures, scenic elements, and specialty builds while leading the carpentry team in a fast-paced production environment. This role ensures projects are completed efficiently, safely, and with a high level of craftsmanship.
Position’s key responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the daily operations of the carpentry and fabrication team
- Manage the construction of custom event structures, scenic pieces, stages, bars, backdrops, walls, and specialty installations
- Interpret build plans, measurements, and design concepts to ensure accurate execution
- Delegate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure projects are completed on schedule
- Maintain high standards of craftsmanship, quality control, and workplace safety
- Oversee proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and shop materials
- Collaborate with operations, production, and design teams to ensure successful event execution
- Assist with loading, installations, on-site builds, and breakdowns when needed
- Ensure shop cleanliness, organization, and inventory accountability
Requirements
- Bilingual
- Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience required
- Minimum 3 years of experience building custom woodwork or fabrication pieces for events, exhibits, trade shows, or scenic production
- Experience working with wood, acrylic/lucite, laminates, and specialty finishes
- Strong understanding of general carpentry and construction techniques
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends based on event schedules
Preferred Skills
- Scenic fabrication or event production experience
- Experience using table saws, routers, CNC equipment, or specialty fabrication tools
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently
- Attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
