Carrier Sales Executive

Role and Responsibilities
As a Carrier Sales Executive, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing relationships between qualified carriers and DeSpir Logistics. You will utilize tools to guide negotiations and buying decisions. This role combines sales, and account management to meet the transportation needs of our customers. This is a fast paced, high-energy position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (*DENOTES GDP ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
  • Responsible for negotiating rates and assigning carriers on customer shipments*
  • Collecting the following information from the carrier: driver(s) information, phone number, truck and trailer numbers and registrations, CDLs
  • Understand all customer shipment requirements and communicate them to the assigned driver(s) accordingly*
  • Responsible for completing CS pre pick up script and getting GPS and temp monitoring (if applicable) for every shipment*
  • Efficiently leverage existing qualified carrier relationships and on-board new carriers while securing solid commitments on tough new lanes and seizing new load/lane opportunities*
  • Responsible for carrier selection to ensure the carrier and driver(s) has been fully briefed and can meet and exceed customers’ expectations and requirements*
  • Develop meaningful relationships with carriers and operational understandings, helping match carrier preferred lanes with freight.
  • Continually collaborate with internal DeSpir team members, other departments and any other personnel necessary to help secure and service customers.
  • Manage carriers and their performance weekly to hold accountability and strive for the best possible carrier/driver performance to service our customers*

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Two years of Logistics Brokerage Experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate, negotiate, and influence others
  • Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated
  • Ability to build strong relationships
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Hourly pay range: $24.00 - $28.00, based on experience, with monthly incentive plan, based on performance.
