SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing supervisory case management services to a team of Protection and Safety workers. Case Leads will ensure case management procedures and practices are being followed in accordance with the Omaha Tribal Youth code. Case Leads will utilize the NFOCUS data system as required in accordance with the contract agreement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Directs the operations of a team of Protection and Safety workers to ensure the application of administrative and/or program policies and plans to work activities and to facilitate through advice and consultation the revolving of problems in the delivery of casework services.

Plans, assigns, directs and evaluates the work of staff members including recommending personnel actions related to selection, disciplinary procedures, performance, leave of absences, grievances, work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient and effective accomplishment of work.

Coordinates case conferences for case assessment, consideration of case problems, case planning and/or determination of legal requirements prior to disposition and assignment to staff

Monitors record keeping of caseload statistics on service provisions and other functions which impact casework programs and submits this information to higher level management to ensure documentation and communication requirements are met.

Consults with other agency staff members and supervisors on determining the allocation of staff members and other resources to ensure coordination of agency actions and decisions and to achieve the goals and objectives of agency programs and services.

Confers with social work professionals in other organizations, court and law enforcement staff interested individuals in the community to promote and develop community resources and awareness of social welfare problems.

Plans and provides social/protective casework services to customers to handle individual difficult cases and to ensure the needs of the customers are met.

Process intakes and/or affidavit reports to submit to the tribal prosecutor for the purposes of ensuring children's' safety and welfare that may need to be made wards of the tribal court.
- Consults with CFS Director and Deputy Director on a regular basis to discuss cases which may or may not need guidance toward the goals set forth in each case plan.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

AA degree preferred or a minimum of two years' experience in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, guidance, psychology, child development or related field.

NFOCUS State DHHS training experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
-
Must possess a valid driver license and be insurable under Tribal insurance

Must pass pre-employment drug test and background check
-
Must pass Nebraska Child Abuse/Registry and Nebraska Adult Protection Service Central Registry.

Must be free of any conviction by any State or the United States for a crime punishable by imprisonment in a penitentiary for a term of one (1) year, or more, or by any foreign government for a crime which would be punishable by imprisonment for a term of one year, or more, if committed in Nebraska, or must have been pardoned for such offense, or have had a conviction for offense overturned, or reversed by a court of competent jurisdiction.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:

Knowledge of the principles and techniques of supervision; the practices of direct case management including assessment, analyzing critical information, plan development and implementation; the importance of families/individuals having normal life experiences that are consistent with age, gender, culture and community setting; the value and importance of families/individuals having the right and ability to make decisions; federal laws and regulations concerning confidentiality, release of client information and social service delivery.
- Knowledge of practices of social work; tribal, federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines concerning service delivery.

Skill in interviewing clients to collect and elicit essential information and assess customer needs and progress; openly and honestly discussing concerns with others in a non-judgmental way.

Ability to plan, assign, direct, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff
