Join Oklahoma Veterans United as a Case Manager within our Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. This role is ideal for mission‑driven professionals who thrive on direct service, problem‑solving, and community impact.

About the Role

As a Housing Case Manager, you will work closely with veterans and their families to overcome barriers to stable housing. You’ll manage a caseload of approximately 20–50 participants, guiding them through housing navigation, service planning, and ongoing case management. This position is hands‑on, relationship‑focused, and essential to preventing and ending veteran homelessness in our community.

What You’ll Do

Housing Navigation

  • Conduct intake and housing assessments
  • Connect clients with needed community services and advocate on their behalf
  • Build relationships with area landlords and identify suitable housing options
  • Support clients in the housing search and assist with applications and documentation
  • Provide post‑placement tenancy support, conflict resolution, and mediation

Case Management

  • Provide weekly case management support until housing is stabilized
  • Offer aftercare services for up to three months post‑placement
  • Help participants access resources such as:
  • Public benefits
  • Behavioral health care
  • Medical/dental services
  • Education & employment services
  • Financial planning and transportation
  • Submit documentation for financial assistance (rent, utilities, deposits, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate and timely program documentation
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and required training

What We’re Looking For

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of the local housing market
  • Familiarity with housing rights, landlord/tenant regulations, and housing discrimination laws
  • Ability to build rapport with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge of community resources, substance abuse support, and mental health systems
  • Experience with homeless or at‑risk populations (preferred)
  • Veteran‑serving experience is strongly preferred
  • Independent, organized, and collaborative team player
  • Strong communication skills—written and verbal
  • Proficiency with computers and digital documentation

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Education, or related field. Or, an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in social services or a related field required.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods (phone work, documentation)
  • Travel to locations within and outside the primary service area
  • Work effectively with veterans, community partners, volunteers, and diverse populations
  • Positive, solution‑oriented mindset and willingness to take direction
