Case Manager

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: Provide direct client services to domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, human trafficking clients and homeless families with children; public education on our services.

DIRECT CLIENT SERVICES DUTIES:

Provide crisis counseling and intervention in person and over the phone;
Provide legal advocacy for DVRCC clients through facilitation of protection orders;
Make necessary arrangements for safe shelter
Information and referrals
Case management and client intakes of shelter residents
Maintain individual client files
Record calls and meetings with clients in data base and case management forms
Follow-up of clients
Provide backup and/or relief on some holidays, weekends and or week nights when no volunteer is available;

PUBLIC EDUCATION DUTIES:

Present public education on issues of domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, date and acquaintance rape, and dating violence to schools, agencies, businesses, civic groups, church groups;

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT DUTIES:

Attend workshops and seminars to upgrade client services skills;
Develop and maintain a collaboration with community service agencies and professionals in a liaison relationship;
Serve on community/agency/state boards and committees;

OTHER DUTIES:

Assist with fundraising efforts
Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of issue concerning domestic violence, human trafficking, sexual assault/abuse and homelessness. An understanding of mental illnesses, developmental disabilities and addiction and have the ability to recognize them in clients will be beneficial;
Experience in working with abuse victims and homeless families preferred;
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
Ability to work with other individuals and agencies on joint projects to meet community needs and experience in networking;
Ability to make logical, appropriate decisions in crisis and non-crisis situation;
Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision;
Computer skills.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: The Direct Services Provider is responsible to the Executive Director.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
