The Role
Pre-litigation case management, intake through settlement. This role coordinates treatment, manages records and liens, handles insurance, and keeps clients informed throughout. Cases that cannot resolve pre-suit are prepared for a clean handoff to the litigation team. No litigation experience required — proven fluency in the pre-litigation PI process is.

Required
- Personal injury case management experience — pre-litigation, intake through settlement. Must be fully proficient in this process without on-the-job training. Operates independently — files advance without prompting and issues are identified and escalated before they become problems. Deadline-consistent — statute of limitations dates, insurance deadlines, and client commitments met without exception. Team-oriented — communicates proactively and supports firm-wide needs as they arise. Strong written communication — client correspondence, lien letters, insurance communications. Writing sample required. Strong verbal communication with clients, medical providers, and insurance adjusters. Working knowledge of medical records, lien types (health insurance, ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, provider), and insurance claims processes. Proficiency with MyCase or a comparable legal case management platform. Demonstrated capacity to manage a minimum active docket of 80 pre-litigation PI cases simultaneously, without supervision or gaps in coverage.
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years of personal injury case management experience in a plaintiff's firm. Bilingual English/Spanish. Exposure to complex PI matters: trucking, catastrophic injury, premises, med mal. Experience managing multi-lien files through confirmed resolution. Military service or veteran status — veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do
Manage the intake. Every new file completed in the case management system the day of assignment. Engagement letters and HIPAA authorizations sent immediately. All deadlines calendared at file opening — statute of limitations first.
Coordinate treatment. Connect clients with appropriate providers, monitor treatment status, and identify and escalate gaps without delay.
Pursue the records. Records requests submitted within 48 hours of provider identification and followed up on schedule until received.
Manage the liens. All lien types identified, tracked, and communicated. Written resolution confirmed on every lien before disbursement.
Handle insurance. Liability and MedPay claims opened, documented, and monitored. Stalls escalated to the supervising attorney.
Serve the client. Primary client point of contact from intake through resolution. Responses within 24 hours. Communication that is accurate, professional, and empathetic.
Build the settlement package. Medical chronologies and cost summaries compiled for attorney review. Post-demand timelines tracked and stalled negotiations escalated.
Hand off cleanly. Cases proceeding to suit are transferred to the litigation team complete — records, billing, lien status, insurance history, and case summary in order.
Document in real time. Every call, email, records request, and client update logged in the case management system immediately. If it is not documented, it did not happen.

- Active docket floor: 80 pre-litigation PI cases carried simultaneously as a baseline expectation. Intake-to-file completion: same business day. Records requests submitted: within 48 hours of provider identification. Client contact frequency: documented at firm-required intervals, no gaps. Open records requests past 30 days: zero tolerance without documented follow-up on file. Statute of limitations and deadline misses: zero
Compensation and Benefits
