Accredited by The Joint Commission, Hudson Behavioral Health is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization providing Behavioral Health Treatment in Salisbury, Maryland. Since its inception in 1980, Hudson Behavioral Health has been providing cutting edge treatment for Substance Use and other co-occurring disorders. Our services include Detoxification, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Partial Hospitalization, Treatment, Transitional Housing and Outpatient Mental Health.
This is a Tuesday - Saturday Day position.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with new patient admissions by assembling charts, providing patient orientation, collecting and entering patient data in EHR, etc.
2. Obtain and maintain patient health insurance authorizations for treatment and Medicaid redeterminations.
3. Ensure patient urine drug screenings are completed and oversee correlating logbook.
4. Monitor and confirm patient attendance daily.
5. Complete daily walk throughs of house to ensure a safe and clean environment, to report maintenance needs, and to hold patients accountable for their responsibilities.
6. Provide medication management and observation and perform regular audits of medication logs/books and notify supervisor of any discrepancies immediately.
7. Advocate for patient needs and organize patient outings, with the help of the housing management team.
8. Provide crisis management for patients and make referrals for additional treatment or interventions, as appropriate.
9. Meet with patients and maintain an active caseload, providing assistance and interventions as needed; and procuring additional services as needed, to ensure treatment goals are met.
10. Coordinate care with outside agencies to ensure additional treatment and aftercare.
11. Provide life skills training and groups; assistance with resume building, job seeking and job interviewing.
12. Physically prepare patient rooms after discharge and delegate the responsibility to BHA’s as needed.
13. Acquire and provide, to primary counselor, any detailed patient information to establish and continue the patient’s treatment plan throughout their stay.
14. Maintain patient charts and electronic health records as trained and according to all governing authorities, including the Joint Commission, State of Maryland, COMAR, HIPAA, etc.
15. Attend interdisciplinary and staff meetings as scheduled or upon request.
16. Help patients become more independent and ensure they remain compliant with groups, medications, cleanliness, take and refill medications, etc.
