BASIC FUNCTION

This position is responsible for overseeing participants in Veterans Court of Southern Indiana. This includes developing treatment plans, monitoring and documenting compliance, recommending sanctions and rewards to the problem-solving court team.

Presiding Problem Solving Court Judge This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. *Assists in interviewing clients, collects and completes required documentation and assists in determining eligibility for Treatment Court participation based on nature of charge, past history, and requirements for specialty court.

B. *Schedules, posts, and notifies concerned parties of cases on the court's docket, including hearings; attends court proceedings; assists with scheduling judge and schedules and coordinates meetings, appointments, and other activities for the Treatment Court team.

C. *Responds to inquiries for information on cases and court procedures.

D. *Establishes and maintains all program associated documentation and records, including confidential participant files;

E. *Supervises case managers monitoring progress of participant for compliance with court-imposed sanctions, treatment programs, required drug and alcohol or other testing, or other case-related requirements.

F. * Develop individual treatment plans for program participants.

G. *Conduct risk/needs assessments to assist with the treatment plan.

H. *Identify and coordinate appropriate services for the clients, including treatment and Evidence-based programs.

I. * Monitor participant's compliance with treatment plans through documentation and regularly speaking with mental health professionals.

J. *Testify in court, and maintaining documents and computer files. Prepares detailed reports monthly for each participant.

K. *Serve as a liaison between participants and service providers, including explaining program policies, answering questions, and resolving problems.

L. * Assist with participant intake, including completing required forms, explaining program rules and contract terms, and executing contracts.

M. *Supervises and assists in preparing detailed reports on participant progress for consideration by judge, prosecutors' office staff, defense attorney, treatment providers, Treatment Court, and other team members.

N. Performs other duties as assigned.
