The Office of the Clerk offers an employment opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal, and analytical skills. An interest in learning processes and procedures pertaining to bankruptcy court operations is essential. The federal judiciary performs an essential mission, and our work is rewarding, fast-paced, and challenging.

The Case Manager position works with the Operations Team and is responsible for the administrative management of bankruptcy cases and related adversary proceedings from opening to final disposition. In addition, case managers assist with courtroom functions, such as calendaring, attending court proceedings, and recording proceedings.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between the clerk’s office, the bar, the public, and the judge to ensure that case information is readily accessible to all stakeholders.
  • Assist attorneys and the public by telephone and in person providing information regarding case status, archive information, and CM/ECF instruction.
  • Manage bankruptcy cases and related adversary proceedings from opening to closing, utilizing applicable automated systems.
  • Review all electronic filings made by outside users for quality control and take corrective action as needed.
  • Manage and organize exhibits used in court proceedings, attend court sessions and conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to effectively interface with all levels of court employees, attorneys, and the public, including the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully both orally and in writing.
  • At least one year of full-time work experience and a consistent record of high-quality job performance with a reliable attendance record.
  • Ability to organize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring compliance with applicable rules and procedures, including deadlines.

Desired Qualifications:

  • A college degree from an accredited educational institution. Appropriate education above the high school level may be considered at the discretion of the Clerk of Court.
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications and Adobe Acrobat. Training on Judiciary-specific applications will be provided in-house.
  • Experience providing case management support either as a case manager, courtroom deputy, or case administrator to a judge, or as a paralegal or administrative assistant to an attorney.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate effective organizational and problem-solving skills; possess a collaborative work attitude; maintain a professional demeanor; and consistently demonstrate sound judgment.

Pay: $55,905.00 - $90,906.00 per year
