Position Summary
The Housing & Employment Case Manager works directly with clients to identify opportunities, develop individualized plans, and provide guidance to secure permanent housing and gainful employment. This position combines office-based responsibilities with fieldwork in the Tacoma community and requires strong problem-solving skills, empathy, and the ability to inspire hope.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with clients, referral sources, and community partners.
- Maintain current knowledge of FCS housing and employment services and procedures.
- Work with clients to identify opportunities, develop goals, and implement individualized housing & employment plans.
- Assist clients with housing applications, supportive/subsidized housing paperwork, and the employment application process.
- Prepare clients for job interviews and provide training as needed.
- Maintain accurate client records and case notes in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Monitor client progress and revise plans as necessary to ensure success.
- Attend program-related community, coalition, and committee meetings as assigned.
- Conduct crisis interventions when necessary.
- Collaborate with other case managers to ensure coordinated and effective service delivery.
- Continually survey the job market and housing resources to support client goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience in social services or case management, including familiarity with case planning and documentation.
- Knowledge of local housing and employment resources.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other standard office applications.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary for portions of the day (>50%) and move throughout office and community locations.
- Frequent use of computer, office machinery, and communication devices.
- Ability to observe and assess clients in their living spaces.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Local travel and outdoor work are required; exposure to weather is expected.

Additional Information
This position requires reliable transportation for travel and occasional client transport as assigned.
