Case Manager/Independent Living Skills Counselor

The Huntington Youth Bureau Institute, the largest, comprehensive system of youth services in New York State, has provided youth development services to the Town of Huntington for over 40 years. As part of the Huntington Youth Bureau Institute, Huntington Sanctuary provides individual, group and family counseling to youth in crisis and their families.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) in Social Work, Counseling or a related field and at least 1 year experience in case management working with youth. Bilingual Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Must possess a NYS Driver’s License and a car.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Provide individual, group and family counseling.

· Crisis intervention and counseling with youth at risk.

· Provide housing referral and/or placement services to youth who have run away.

· Provide counseling and case management to youth ages 12-21.

· Provide Independent Living Skills counseling and educational workshops to youth, school and community groups.

· Ability to transport youth in agency vehicles to emergency housing, programs and any additional relevant services.

· Conduct community networking and presentations with local school district administrators and civic organizations.

· Accurate report keeping.

Hours: Full time position (35 hours per week) including one to two evenings per week.

Salary Range: $50-52,000 per year
