Cash Management Analyst — Job Description
Summary
- Manages daily cash activities, short‑term liquidity, and cash forecasting to optimize working capital and support treasury operations.
Core responsibilities
- Daily cash operations: Monitor daily cash positions across bank accounts, execute cash sweeps, fund transfers, and intercompany payments; manage bank account balances and signatory controls.
- Cash forecasting: Build and maintain short‑ and medium‑term cash flow forecasts (daily/weekly/monthly); update assumptions and report variances.
- Liquidity management: Optimize use of credit lines, investment of surplus cash, and short‑term borrowing; recommend funding strategies to minimize cost and risk.
- Bank relationship management: Maintain relationships with banks and payment providers; negotiate fees, monitor service levels, and resolve banking issues.
- Payments & collections: Oversee payment execution (ACH, wire, card, virtual cards), investigate payment exceptions, and support collections efforts to improve DSO.
- Reconciliation & reporting: Reconcile bank accounts, cash accounts, and treasury confirmations; prepare daily cash reports and treasury dashboards for finance leadership.
- Risk & controls: Implement and maintain internal controls over cash processes, segregation of duties, fraud detection measures, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Systems & automation: Maintain treasury management systems (TMS), ERP cash modules, and payment platforms; drive automation of cash processes and straight‑through processing.
- Short‑term investments: Support management of short‑term investment portfolios (MMFs, commercial paper, term deposits) and ensure compliance with investment policy.
- Cross‑functional partnering: Work with AP, AR, FP&A, tax, and banking partners to resolve issues, improve cash conversion, and support business initiatives.
Typical duties (day‑to‑day)
- Compile and verify daily cash position and liquidity reports.
- Execute domestic and international payments and same‑day funding actions.
- Update and analyze short‑term cash forecasts; flag variances and recommend actions.
- Reconcile daily bank statements and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage bank fee analysis and dispute resolution.
- Monitor covenant compliance for credit facilities and trigger alerts.
- Support month‑end cash reporting and cash-related journal entries.
- Maintain and document treasury processes, runbooks, and controls.
- Implement payment system enhancements and automation projects.
- Respond to ad hoc treasury requests (e.g., funding for acquisitions, FX needs).
Required qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Experience: 2–5 years in treasury, cash management, banking operations, or corporate finance.
- Technical skills: Strong Excel skills (modeling, pivot tables), experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP) and TMS or payment platforms; familiarity with banking APIs a plus.
- Knowledge: Understanding of cash forecasting techniques, short‑term investments, banking operations, payment methods, and FX basics.
- Certifications (optional): ACT, AITP, or treasury-related coursework advantageous.
- Soft skills: Detail-oriented, analytical, organized, strong communicator, and able to work under time-sensitive conditions.
Preferred attributes
- Experience with multinational cash pooling, notional pooling, or multi‑currency cash management.
- Familiarity with treasury automation, bank connectivity (SWIFT, EBICS), and payment security standards.
- Prior exposure to process improvement or RPA implementations.
Pay: QAR88.12 - QAR173.12 per hour
