Job Purpose:

To ensure the efficient and effective delivery of FMCG products directly to retail customers using a company cash van, achieving sales targets, expanding customer base, and ensuring prompt cash collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Distribution:
  • Visit assigned routes and sell products to retail outlets (groceries, supermarkets, minimarts, etc.).
  • Ensure full coverage of the route and achieve daily/monthly sales targets.
  • Promote and introduce new products to customers.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals with clients.
  • Maintain product availability and visibility in all assigned outlets.
  • Delivery & Merchandising:
  • Load and unload products onto the van according to daily delivery plans.
  • Deliver products accurately and on time.
  • Arrange products on shelves or displays as per company merchandising standards.
  • Cash Collection & Reporting:
  • Collect payments (cash or cheques) from customers as per company policy.
  • Submit daily sales and collection reports.
  • Ensure cash collected matches the invoiced amounts.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail customers.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints or queries promptly.
  • Inventory & Van Management:
  • Manage van stock levels and ensure stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Conduct daily van stock reconciliation and report discrepancies.
  • Keep the van clean, organized, and in good working condition.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience in cash van sales, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Valid driver’s license (light or medium truck, depending on country requirements).
  • Good knowledge of assigned route and customer base.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use handheld devices or sales apps.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
