Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Processing: Managing cash registers and POS systems, scanning items, calculating prices, and issuing receipts.
- Payment Handling: Processing cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments, as well as handling returns, exchanges, and refunds.
- Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions about products or store policies, and providing helpful, friendly service.
- Accuracy & Maintenance: Balancing the cash drawer at the start/end of shifts, maintaining a tidy workstation, and sometimes assisting with restocking.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Basic Math Skills: Essential for counting money and making change.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, professional demeanor with strong, clear communication.
- Technical Proficiency: Ability to operate scanners, computers, and POS software.
- Reliability & Detail-Oriented: Strong work ethic, trustworthiness in handling money, and attention to detail.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Common Requirements
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is often preferred.
