Duties

• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system to process sales quickly and accurately, including cash handling and credit card transactions
• Provide friendly customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
• Upsell products and promotional items to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store looks inviting
• Manage inventory by conducting stock checks, assisting with product demos, and supporting stock replenishment efforts
• Handle customer concerns professionally using proper phone etiquette and effective communication skills
• Support team members by supervising new staff when needed and contributing to a positive team environment

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in multiple languages (bilingual abilities are a plus)
• Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, merchandising displays, and standing for extended periods
• Knowledge of grocery store operations including cashiering, retail sales, and customer service standards
• Demonstrated professionalism with good phone etiquette and a friendly demeanor
