• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product selections.
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity.
• Upsell products and suggest add-on items during checkout to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of checkout areas, including stocking shelves and merchandising displays.
• Conduct product demos when appropriate to educate customers about new or featured items.
• Follow proper phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Previous supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team.
• Ability to perform basic retail math for balancing registers and calculating discounts.
• Strong communication skills in both verbal and written forms; bilingual abilities are highly valued.
• Experience in grocery store or retail sales environments preferred.
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and inventory management practices.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with upselling techniques and product demos to engage customers effectively.
