Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales transactions quickly and efficiently
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and assisting with product questions or concerns
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and confidence
• Upsell products and promote store specials or promotions to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales
• Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
• Maintain organized merchandising displays, stock shelves, and ensure the sales floor is clean and inviting
• Assist with stocking inventory, organizing back stock, and managing product placement for optimal visibility
• Use strong communication skills to address customer inquiries via phone etiquette or in person
• Support supervising staff by helping train new team members or guiding less experienced cashiers

Skills

• Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store environment
• Prior supervising experience or leadership skills to support team operations
• Ability to perform basic math quickly for accurate transactions and change calculations
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
• Strong communication skills to clearly convey information and assist customers confidently
• Experience with merchandising, stocking, retail sales, and upselling techniques
• Knowledge of grocery store operations including cashiering, inventory management, and product demos
• Professional phone etiquette for handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely
