Job Summary
As a Cashier at Waterdrops Express Car Wash, your primary role is customer service, but cross-training is required. You may assist at the send station, loading cars onto the conveyor and applying overrides. Cashiers inform customers about procedures, policies, and promotions while upselling wash packages and memberships. Responsibilities include handling transactions via cash registers/POS systems, processing various payment types, maintaining the store’s image, and addressing customer inquiries.
Work Context
- Work Setting - Position requires average amounts of physical activity in an outdoor car wash setting.
- Environmental Conditions -Potential exposure to car wash chemicals and incoming and outgoing traffic throughout the day. Conditions are hazardous, and the position requires candidates to be alert at all times. Candidates must follow our safety policy for PPE use, as some conditions that may be hazardous.
- Job Hazards - Must adhere to all safety rules, policies and regulations in relationship to OSHA and Waterdrops Equipment standards (including but not limited to Slip/trips/falls, Sprains & Strains, Vehicle Movement, Machinery/Equipment Exposure, Heat Exposure)
- Body Positioning - Ability to intermittently and repeatedly bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull, or do fine manipulations, and stand for prolonged periods. Ability to lift or move items of light to heavy weight, up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Position requires regularly walking, standing, using hands, reaching with hands and arms. Position requires peripheral vision, ability to see color, ability to adjust focus, distance vision, close vision
- Work Attire -Position requires a uniform including black or khaki pants, company provided blue polo shirt, non-slip shoes, company provided name-tag and access card.
- Routine versus Challenging Work-Position is fast-paced at times and involves work that is dependent on the weather.
- Pace and Scheduling -Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, is required. Schedules may change based on business needs at the Store Manager's discretion.
Primary Job Duties
- Greet customers entering the establishment. We take pride in ensuring that each and every customer feels welcomed and satisfied with their time spent with us.
- Maintain a positive attitude and calmly respond to customers' complaints. When encountered with a customer dispute, immediately call management for assistance. Uphold customer service and overall kindness to customers as the utmost.
- Monitor customer transactions and answer any questions they might have regarding payments or errors.
- Never leave your post unattended or without informing the manager on shift.
- Promote our Unlimited Package to every single customer
- Perform visual inspections of the condition of each vehicle prior to sending it through the wash bay.
- Must be able to operate the send station and have a complete understanding of all overrides to adjust wash per vehicle as needed.
- Receive payment by cash, credit cards, vouchers, or contactless pay.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping down areas and emptying trash cans if necessary.
