Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales transactions, returns, and exchanges.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and offering product recommendations.
• Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers.
• Assist with merchandising and stocking shelves to ensure products are well-presented and accessible.
• Upsell complementary products to enhance the customer’s shopping experience and increase sales.
• Maintain proper cash handling procedures, including balancing registers at shift end.
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or taking inquiries.
• Support inventory management by participating in stock counts and organizing merchandise displays.
• Supervise or assist new team members as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Promote a clean, organized checkout area that adheres to safety and store standards.

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for accurate cash handling.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers.
• Experience in supervising or leading small teams is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, merchandising, and stock management is beneficial.
• Ability to demonstrate product features confidently and engage customers effectively.
