Cashier

Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service caf, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, and specialty meats daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.

We are currently seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service.

What You'll Do

• Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming shopping experience
• Operate the cash register and process cash, card, and digital payments accurately
• Scan products, weigh items, and ensure pricing is correct
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
• Assist customers with questions about products and store services
• Bag groceries carefully and efficiently
• Help restock shelves, coolers, and checkout displays as needed
• Follow company policies and procedures for cash handling and loss prevention
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth daily operations

Work Schedule: Thu: 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Fri: 3:00pm - 12:30am, Sat - Sun: 1:00pm - 11:00pm

PayCompensation: $18 per hour

Required Qualifications

• Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred
• Availability to work weekends is required
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic math skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude
• Knowledge of Ukrainian or Eastern European products is a plus
