Job Summary:
The Cashier will use cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:

At the beginning of shift, count drawer to ensure that it balances.

Greet customers as they enter the location.

Ask every customer at the time of check out if they would like to participate in Do It Best Rewards

Know the discount policy and apply discounts only in accordance with company policy.

Accept money in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for items purchased; validate check.
-
Take check and credit card payments for customers with charge accounts.
-
Assist with refunds and exchanges in accordance with company policy.
-
If a line forms in your aisle, call for other cashiers.
-
During slow times, should be straightening and facing aisles, mopping, sweeping, cleaning front windows, etc.

Assist customers with questions or price discrepancies.
-
At the end of the shift, count the drawer to ensure that it balances with the sales report.

Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates bills with available equipment.

Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, or providing information.

Bag, box, and wrap purchased items.

Compliance with Hacienda uniform policy.

Ongoing completion of online training.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent customer service skills

Good verbal communication skills

Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, or scanners.

Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.

Knowledgeable about company’s products and services, and customer-related policies
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
-
Successful completion of on-the-job training
Physical Requirements:
-
Prolonged periods standing and working on cash register or related equipment.
-
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
-
May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis.
-
Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
