Duties

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions efficiently and securely
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed
• Handle cash, credit, and electronic payments with precision and integrity
• Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
• Manage phone etiquette professionally when assisting customers over the phone or in person

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Supervising experience is a plus, especially in guiding new team members or managing shifts
• Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Strong communication skills in both bilingual settings (if applicable) and in-person interactions
• Knowledge of grocery store operations, retail sales techniques, and merchandising practices
• Experience conducting product demos to engage customers effectively
• Familiarity with upselling strategies to maximize sales potential
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining attention to detail
