Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and efficiently.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures.
• Assist customers with product questions, perform product demos when applicable, and suggest additional items through upselling techniques.
• Maintain clean and organized checkout areas, restock supplies, and ensure merchandise is properly displayed through merchandising and stocking tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management to coordinate daily operations.
• Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
• Support overall store operations by participating in inventory management, retail math calculations, and ensuring compliance with store policies.

Requirements

• Previous cashiering experience in a garden center or retail environment is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to assist diverse customers fluently in at least one language; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions, giving correct change, and performing retail math calculations.
• Knowledge of POS systems and cashiering procedures is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk throughout the store, and perform physical tasks such as stocking or merchandising as needed.
• Experience supervising or mentoring team members is a plus but not required.

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
