Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier / Front Counter Associate to join our team at Via Quadronno. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment while delivering exceptional hospitality and service to every guest.

Responsibilities

• Operate the POS system accurately for dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders
• Answer phones and take customer orders professionally and efficiently
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and assisting with menu or product inquiries
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with accuracy and confidence
• Upsell menu items, pastries, desserts, and special promotions to enhance the guest experience and increase sales
• Maintain merchandising and display standards by stocking shelves, organizing pastries, and ensuring product availability throughout the shift
• Scoop and serve ice cream while maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards
• Assist baristas with drink preparation, order support, and front-of-house operations as needed
• Practice excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or coordinating with team members
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment

Requirements

• Previous cashier or customer service experience in a café, restaurant, or retail environment preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Basic math skills and confidence handling cash transactions and providing correct change
• Familiarity with POS systems and cashiering procedures is a plus
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively assist a diverse customer base
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented attitude and willingness to assist coworkers when needed
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing displays, and lifting light items
• Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus, but not required
• Able to work night shifts
