Responsibilities

• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
• Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience
• Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision
• Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance sales opportunities
• Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and maintaining an organized checkout area
• Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers
• Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support inventory management by participating in stock replenishment and inventory counts
• Ensure compliance with store policies regarding cashier procedures and safety standards

Experience

• Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with diverse customers effectively
• Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve our diverse customer base effectively
• Experience in merchandising, stocking, or retail sales enhances your ability to succeed in this role
• Knowledge of grocery store operations is beneficial for understanding product placement and inventory flow
