Cashier

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our team at our grocery store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions efficiently, and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and care.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries.
• Engage in upselling techniques to promote store products effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area while ensuring all merchandise is properly stocked.
• Assist with product demonstrations to enhance customer knowledge of items available for purchase.
• Supervise junior staff members as needed, providing guidance and support during shifts.
• Utilize basic math skills to ensure accurate cash handling and register reconciliation.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and improve overall store performance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clientele.
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, enhancing communication with a broader customer base.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts and cash handling procedures is essential.
• Experience in merchandising and stocking shelves is a plus.
• Basic phone etiquette skills for handling inquiries over the phone when necessary.
